Shoring, or Support of Excavation (SOE) Systems are temporary earth-retaining systems intended to control the soil to facilitate a safe and efficient space for construction. In some instances the SOE System can double as permanent structural support.

Chesterfield’s capabilities and experience includes design of a wide variety of Support of Excavation (SOE) Systems including, but not limited to : Sheet Pile walls, Cofferdams, Soldier Pile and Lagging walls, Tie-Back or Anchored Walls in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Long Island.
Chesterfield is also equipped to install and monitor temporary dewatering systems to facilitate construction within the water table. We install cofferdams with the use of sump pumps to work within the water, such as the installation of outfall pipes and concrete boat ramps. We have also installed and monitored long-term dewatering & shoring systems on Long Island with the use of steel sheeting, wellpoints, and water distribution systems to facilitate the construction of new homes within the water table.
